The Photographers Swap with Violet // Bits & Pieces

Hello Anna Z readers! I am stopping in today to swap photographs with Anna and give you a small peek into my own photography! Adapted from James's "bits & pieces" posts, this photo swap contains the "bits & pieces" from a casual Saturday and Sunday with me and my husband. Be sure to check out my blog, BlythePonytailParades, to see Anna's weekend photos as well! Thanks for having me again Anna :) Looking forward to next time!

1- Looking out our kitchen window while baking cookies.
2- Me and Grant both have a soft spot for the confetti cake cookies!
3- Getting our Downton Abbey fix.
4- Time spent with the Marshmallow is time well spent.
5- Out to dinner with friends. Some of which couldn't keep their eyes open ;)
6- The view of the sky before sunset.

How beautiful is that last photo!? Thanks so much Violet. Click here to see more photo swap posts with Violet.

The Photographers Swap with Anna and Violet // Summer Night

Hello lovely readers! It's me, Violet again and I am here to swap some fun photos with Anna. Today's theme was summer nights so I decided to share some photos from a recent bonfire at my friend's house. There were lots of babies and lots of talking. We stayed up entirely too late, but that was ok with me because I got to see a SUPER huge moon on the way home. As you can see, fireside in the pitch black night isn't exactly perfect conditions for pictures, but I really love the dramatic feel they had. Plus the kids were being very photogenic.

Thanks for having me again Anna. Looking forward to next time and don't forget to wander over to my blog and check out Anna's photo swap. See you next time! -Violet

Photo Swap with Violet // Photo an hour

Hey everyone! It's Violet again from Blytheponytailparades and I am stopping in to share my Saturday Photo an hour shots! Last Saturday, I had plans to do a maternity shoot at sunset. I was pretty excited to choose this day to do a photo an hour because I would be able to share those shots with you. Sadly, the rain did not take this into consideration and poured all throughout the day keeping me and my husband indoors. BUT, it was still a wonderful and relaxing day! Here's how it started:
-9 AM- First thing I do every Saturday morning is go down stairs, let my puppy out and do my makeup for the day. Weekdays are more of my meh days on makeup. If I have time to do it at traffic lights, I will. Otherwise, I end up not caring and walk around half the day at work with one eye lined black and the other cleaned off. It's embarrassing. But Saturdays are when I ACTUALLY try ;)
-10 AM- My husband and I have started a tradition to either go out or make breakfast every Saturday morning. I've really loved doing it so far! Breakfast is my favorite. And iHop pretty much rocks.
-11 AM- After some breakfast, we decided to stop at the mall and walk around (cause what else is there to do on rainy days?). I ended up shopping around for a new dress for Japan. Forever 21 is my favorite.
-12 PM- Still shopping. H&M seriously had the good stuff that day. But I never found the dress I wanted for Japan. This one was cute though. I felt like I looked like a 12 year old girl though. My husband agreed : /
-1 PM- Driving in the rain…
-2 PM- Grocery shopping is only fun when we go together. Otherwise I hate it.
-3 PM- Did my nails…it's a rarity for me to sit down and actually take the time to do them anymore. But I love this OPI color SO much!
-4 PM- We laid around and I took a nap on the couch. I decided this was a MUCH better picture than one of me flopped on the couch.
-5 PM- My Marshmallow watched me make dinner.
-6 PM- Finishing off dinner with some lemon cookies! My favorite ^_^
-8 PM- We broke out some new wine we picked up that day. Can you tell why I bought it? Yes the packaging is adorable, but the wine is INCREDIBLE. So incredible that I had more than I usually do…like a full glass instead of a half. I'm a lightweight ;)

Time to get ready for bed :)

Thanks for having me again Anna! Come on over and visit the blog sometime! I'd love to have you :)

Thank you Violet! You take such lovely photos.

Photo Swap with Violet // City Market

Hey everyone! It's me, Violet again and I'm here to swap some photos with Anna today! Recently my husband and I took a trip downtown for the weekly winter Farmer's Market for some fresh food! I had a blast as I LOVE farmer's markets and it got me really pumped for spring. We got some super yummy red baby potatoes, some Amish spicy cheese and some wildflower honey. But most importantly, I was able to snag some super delectable macarons from Circle City Sweets (which makes the best Macarons in town). I had a rosewater white chocolate, a vanilla bean and hazelnut...and no, I didn't eat them all at once, as tempting as that was ;) Have a fantastic weekend everyone and I will see you next time!

Thanks Anna for swapping with me once again and make sure you check out my blog for Anna's photo swap!

Thank you Violet! I LOVE the picture of the macarons. :-)

The Photographers Swap with Anna and Violet // Night Out

Hey it's Violet and I'm here for the second Photographer's swap with Anna!

This Wednesday, my husband and I went on a little trip to Gigi's Cupcakes for pre-dinner dessert! I think the most striking thing about those cupcakes was the PILED HIGH icing! Their icing looked like ice cream scoops on top of the tiny cakes. Too fun! I really enjoyed it and after picking out the "wedding cake" flavored cupcake, we took a stroll down the strip of stores in the rain checking out The Cheese Shop and The Game Preserve…. We eventually did eat real dinner too! Hope you enjoyed this little peek into our night out!

Thanks for swapping with me Anna! Make sure you stop over at my blog, BlythePonytailParades, for Anna Z's guest post of her Valentine's dinner! See you next time. :)

Thank you Violet!

The Photographers Swap with Anna and Violet // Landscapes

-
Hi everyone! I'm Violet Short and I blog over at BlythePonytailParades and I will be sharing a few images with you today from a night escapade to our local park. My friend, co-worker and fellow photographer Anna Z and I have joined up to share our unique style of photography on eachother's blogs from time to time and today is our first post! Hope you enjoy!

These are three shots from the night sky overlooking the countryside in New Palestine, Indiana. It was an unnaturally warm night for January which made taking these pictures much more pleasant! Even though the skies were clear and the stars were visible, my camera was having some issues finding the stars in the viewfinder. The results were some out of focus bokeh shots which I ended up liking! Funny how accidents can turn into something you love. I was mostly excited about how the camera picked up the colors in the sky. It's neat to see what we couldn't see with the naked eye!

These shots were all taken with a 30 second shutter speed, aperture at f8 and ISO at 100 with a 35mm 1.8 fixed lens.

If you are interested in checking out more images like these and also a lot of other variety in posting, head on over to my blog! I try to respond to all comments and questions and I love to hear from people! Thanks Anna for posting and I look forward to our next "SWAP". -Violet

Here is my post on Violet's blog, Lake Erie. Check it out! Thanks so much Violet!
